Aston Villa v West Ham United
Villa begin life after Martin O’Neill without any new signings. But
West Ham have failed to win in their last four League visits to Upton Park and, crucially, they have not won away in the Premier League for a year. The last success they experienced away from Upton Park was at Wolves on the opening day of last season.
New manager Avram Grant lost twice against Villa last season, with Portsmouth, but West Ham were unbeaten in seven pre-season friendlies. He may give debuts to some of his summer signings including Frederic Piquionne and former Villa favourite Thomas Hitzlsperger.
